Nick Pearce, managing director and founder of Modern Storyteller said “The support of Dear Villagers has already been an incredible boon, allowing me to focus on a world and narrative more detailed than I ever imagined when working on the mod.” This collaboration enables the team to improve the visuals and overhaul the setting, narrative design, and characters (via professional voice acting). The studio has partnered with Dear Villagers, the publisher behind titles Edge of Eternity and Bury me, my Love. Rome: Total War was at one point my favorite game ever, albeit that's a very different game in structure.Developer Modern Storyteller will be launching The Forgotten City, based on the critically acclaimed Skyrim mod in winter 2020. Also its bringing me back to a time where I fell in love with games with a Roman setting, so that is playing a big role too.

Maybe its the game's timeloop mechanic, great tracking of quests and the simplified combat that's getting me hooked.

Its especially commendable that I'm really digging this game despite me being in the minority of really disliking Bethesda style RPG's since this was a Skyrim mod. Still, I've loved my time with TFC and I definitely want to go back to get the final "true" ending. Happy to see Sentilla get her revenge on Sentius by torching his evil bum, but also felt really bad that I practically let everyone else die in the city. Also learning that Sentius was in the know on the time loops and used them to gain immortality while he also knew of what was of Al was a nice twist.

Where I found out where Sentilla was all this time and learned Sentius had held her captive after she tried to escape.
